The Tiny Bernedoodle: A complete breed guide
A Tiny Bernedoodle is a mixture between a mini poodle and a Bernese Mountain Dog. They are classified as an F1B Mini Bernedoodle and therefore have 25% Bernese genes and 75% mini poodle genes. They’re also sometimes referred to as Micro Mini Bernedoodles.
How Big is a Tiny Bernedoodle?
These tiny dogs can range between 10-40 lbs which is quite small in comparison to the 100 lb size of a full grown Bernese Mountain Dog, but still large enough that they aren’t a toy breed.

Are Tiny Bernedoodles Hypoallergenic?
One of the advantages of this breed is that they feature a coat that doesn’t tend to shed a lot. This is thanks to their non-shedding poodle genetics. The coat is usually a wavy or curly pattern and can be a variety of colors with either one, two or three colors being found in an individual dog.
Because Tiny Bernedoodles don’t tend to shed they may need a little more hands on care in the way of grooming. It’s recommended to brush your Tiny Bernedoodle 3 times a week and they will need to see a groomer for a trim every few months.
The more curl a Tiny Bernedoodle has in their coat, the more frequently they’ll need to be groomed. The thick coat on the Tiny Bernedoodle makes them adaptable to both cool climates and warm ones.
The non-shedding traits of the Tiny Bernedoodle also make them the perfect dog for allergy sufferers looking for a hypoallergenic breed.
Tiny Bernedoodle Temperament
Tiny Bernedoodles tend to be calm and gentle dogs just like their Bernese and Poodle parents. They love being around people and are very affectionate.
Because of their desire to be close to people it’s important to train them early that it’s okay when they’re alone otherwise they can develop a bad case of separation anxiety.
They make great family pets because they are so gentle and affectionate. They’re also extremely safe dogs to have around young children.
This breed is also very intelligent and this makes them easy to train. They pick up on commands quickly and people have found that this makes them great agility dogs.
This breed will adapt their energy levels to match their owners. If you are energetic they will love to get out and play with you; however, if you’re more relaxed they would love nothing more than to snuggle with you on the couch.
No matter where you are, that’s where your Tiny Bernedoodle is going to want to be so whether you like hiking and snowshoeing or you’re more of a lounge by the pool and watch TV type of person, you can guarantee your pupper is going to be right beside you.
It’s recommended that Tiny Bernedoodles get roughly a half hour of exercise a day regardless of their energy levels. This will help keep them fit and healthy.
Tiny Bernedoodle Cost
Tiny Bernedoodles can cost anywhere in the range of $4000 – $5000. Of course, this is breeder dependent but is a good average to start with when seriously considering buying a puppy.
